Model Off Duty Style- Episode 1

So for many in the fashion know- the Model Off Duty style is a huge source of inspiration. From bloggers to editors- even designers become inspired by the "MOD" style. With the casual, "coolness" of this style, it says "I have style but don't give a F*&%" :) I'm going to focus on some of my favorite fashion models with style. Although I love the uniform black tight jeans/leggings with black leather jacket that many models sport- I also enjoy seeing those certain models, that have their own style and creative view on fashion, outside of their photo shoots. So first up:

Abbey Lee Kershaw

Abbey is an Australian model that is currently with Next Model Management in the US.

Her style, in my humble opinion, is a mix of boho chic and high fashion. WIth a down to earth feel, Abbey shows off her fashion know how and creative styling.

 Her hair color change last season was a shock but I LOVE IT! I think it just bring out her facial features even more!

Abbey is constantly working with Karl Lagerfeld and CHANEL... I always love seeing the new ads. This s/s 2011, Abbey and Karlie Kloss will be featured in Donna Karen's Ads which you can see here- Next Model mangaement's blog.

"What's In Your Bag?" Alison Edition

Welcome to "WHAT'S IN YOUR BAG?"- a weekly look inside someone's everyday handbag. Every week, I will share with you an inside peek at one girl (or guy's) everyday bag from around the world! We all have a nosy side- we might as well just admit it, move on and take a peek!

Our first Fashionista is Alison:

 

I've known Alison for many years- she is an alum dancer from our studio and recently she has moved to Georgia to attend Savannah College of Art and Design for fashion marketing.

She also has modeled for our company- Kdottie Designs- for a few years now.

Here's her bag------>

 So I just had to buy this new purse at the Marc by Marc Jacobs store in Savannah (it was only $65!) and I am showing you what was in my old purse that will probably not fit into my new one haha. But here’s the reasoning as to why these items are in my purse.

1. Sunglasses- it gets sunny here in the south
2. Two wallets- haha ive been doing this for a while bc I have yet to find a wallet that is big enough to hold everything that I have that should go into a wallet. Haha but the bigger Urban outfitters wallet one is for everyday stuff, such as cash, coins, debit card, school id, drivers license, and any gift cards. The smaller Juicy Couture wallet is for those countless “rewards” cards that stores talk you into buying that you pull out every once in a while haha. I have the CVS extracare card, sephora beauty insider card, club ulta card, mypanera card, and an arden b rewards card. All random stuff, but I like having it just so I can save some money here and there.
3. Burt’s Bees Lip Radiance shimmer – ive never been a huge fan of lipgloss so this stuff is amazing. It’s like lip balm with a little bit of shimmer in it.
4. Blackberry storm
5. Khol & Contour Black eyeliner- As much as I love eyeliner, I have never found one that doesn’t start coming off after an hour. So I like to keep this with me for touchups
6. Disney princess necklace pen- those $1 aisles at target get me every time
7. OPI “ogre the top blue” nail polish- the shrek collection is my new obsession so I tend to start painting my nails when I get bored J
8. Digital Camera
9. 5 gum- this new “prism” watermelon flavor is soooo yummy

    10. Pink pepper spray- every girl needs one of these just to be on the safe side    

    11. Keys- with my lucky rabbit’s foot, marc Jacobs keychain, stinky rat keychain ($3 also at the marc Jacobs store haha im obsessed), and my monogrammed initial keychain (from dazzle boutique in st. Louis)

    12. iPod- with this awesome hello kitty cover I found at best buy J

    13. Lady Gaga Heartbeats earbuds- got these for my birthday last year and they’re such amazing quality! Also, the cords are made flat so that it doesn’t ever get tangled like other earbuds do

Premiere! Weekly Shopping Guide

Welcome to the very first - WEEKLY SHOPPING GUIDE! I hope to present an online shopping guide, on this blog, every week. Use it as inspiration or a shopping list ;) Trends, personal favorites and editors choices.. I try to include prices for every budget and clothing & accessories for every event and body type. 10. Halston Heritage- Halter Long Dress

I'm a sucker for a good event dress... and a beautifully designed back on a dress....

How amazing is this dress?? Great basic color but with enough detail and unique design to make you stand out. Another thing I LOVE about this dress is comfort level. Nothing is worse then being stuck at an event in a uncomfortable dress... yuck. This dress is made out of slinky jersey .. which means you will be comfortable! 

9. Alexander Wang- Ribbed Hat

Unfortunately where I live... it's still cold cold cold. But if I have to bundle up- at least this hat is stylish and fun. I absolutely adore Alexander Wang anything! Such great basics!! 

8. Diane Von Furstenberg Tatia Wedge Sandals

Now I know it can be a little daunting to see Resort wear (or even Spring clothing! YIKES) in stores this time of year... but I like to think of it as the light at the end of the tunnel. Winter will soon be over and warm weather is on its way!!! And how great are these wedges? The nude color will allow for longer looking legs and the pop of coral color is a great accent. Plus the design looks comfortable :)

7.3.1 Philip Lim Tank

Great for layering. Great on it's own. I love the design and unique approach to this tank. Made out of linen and silk- this piece would be make a great addition to any wardrobe for spring.

6. Shashi Ballerina Bracelet

I love to pile on the bracelets. Maybe i'm channeling my inner 5 year old- dressing up in my dress up clothes and accessorizing with every single piece of jewelry in the house... I dunno. But this bracelet seems like the perfect addition to any collection! Wear it by itself or with many other bracelets! 

5. AllSaints Bedouin Scarf

A girl can never have too many scarves. It is highly unlikely that you will ever see me without one ;) And in my humble opinion (besides Hermes), AllSaints has the best scarves!!!

4. JCrew Cashmere Open Cardigan

Great piece for any wardrobe! Layer it. Wear it as a light jacket. Enjoy the cashmere feel. You don't have to be "preppy" to enjoy this sweater... or jcrew ;)

3. Proenza Schouler PS1 Med. Linen Satchel

How great is this bag!?!? Not only is it unique but it's practical! I just loooove the feeling and look of this bag. And while you wear it... you can pretend your Alan from "The Hangover" and tell everyone how great your satchel is... Indiana Jones has one ;)

9. Rick Owens Blister Leather Biker Jacket

Rick Owens is to Leather Jackets as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. Nobody does a leather jacket like R. Owens. Fantastic design. Great fabrication. Here is a leather jacket that you can wear for years and years to come.

1. Christian Louboutin Bibi 140 leather platform pumps

Do I even need to say anything!?!? Nude Color to make your legs look longer- check. Great design that allows you to wear it with everything this spring- check. The ever important red sole- check. Thats all that needs to be said.

New Year. New Blog.

Happy New Years Everyone!!!

So I'm back to blogging. It's one of many new years resolutions-and yes before you say anything I AM going to keep my resolutions! lol So no need to doubt me ;)

For those of you who are new to the blog- WELCOME! 

Here is a little bit about myself...

I am a 25 year old free spirit with a love for dance, creating, fashion and imagination.

I absolutely love to travel. I have lived in the midwest, NYC, Los Angeles, Paris, Germany, Holland, England and Scotland.

I have a puppy named Noodle... she's the best little puppy!

I shop too much. I have what some may call an addiction to magazines... I call it a strong interest.

I teach dance & choreograph for a living.

I also started a few businesses with my mom... 

KDOTTIE DESIGNS- our mother company. Currently we are creating our beloved Malibu Hair Ties- headbands and hair ties. Check it out and visit our website here.
