Happy Pink Saturday!!!!! Today I am sharing another keepsake of my Grandmother's. It is a bath salt container.

The bottom of the container says: DuBarry. I did a little investigating and found out DuBarry premiered as the first American-made cosmetic line. It was created by Richard Hudnut. Previous to his efforts, all cosmetics and fragrances available in the US were imported from Europe.

The year was 1903. The conservative clientele of Alexander Hudnut's drug store were among the world's wealthiest women. Alexander's son Richard dared to introduce them to an exotic fragrance he discovered in Europe. Immediately, the DuBarry mystique swept New York society.
In its mid-1900's heyday, DuBarry was bigger and more popular than Revlon is today.
Who knew???? Ashley keeps bracelets in it today. LOL

Please don't forget to visit Beverly and all the other Pink Participants!
Have a good day and a better tomorrow!

Very cool. Aren't you glad you still have it? I've been slacking in my neighborliness, but now that I'm back in the swing again, I wanted to stop in and say hello. Happy spring!

My grandmother used to wear their old-English Lavender scent and used other of their soaps. Thanks for a wonderful memory. It's great that you have kept the memento all these years. I hope you have a grand Pink Saturday. Blessings...Mary
