One World One Heart 2010 Giveaway Event

Kdottie Designs is participating in the One World One Heart Blogger Giveaway! We participated last year and had so much fun meeting bloggers from all over the world!!

What is OWOH?

PINK SATURDAY - CARDS

Hello to everyone - hope you had a good week.  Today I am going to share two of my favorite cards that I have received over the years.  Even though they don't show it, they really are PINK!  My lighting was bad and the cards are well loved and getting old so they look a bit grainy.

I was given this card because this is my REAL job - teaching children to dance. Yes, they do hang on your leg sometimes ; )

The next card is my all time favorite!  Can it get any better than a darling little girl dressed up as a fairy (my other slight obsession) blowing you a kiss?

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY, LADY MUSHROOM

While we were in Italy last fall, we found the cutest little shop, so of course we had to check it out. We were minding our own business and enjoying the store, when out of the blue my allergies decided to kick in. 

The harder I tried not to cough the worse it got.  I must explain that since I had whopping cough a few years ago, my cough sounds much worse than it really should.  Ashley always tells me that when I start coughing, I can clear a room. Actually, that could work to my advantage - LOL.  The bark is MUCH worse than the bite.

I think the poor lady that owned the store thought I was about to die.  I didn't know how to tell her that everything was okay - it was just my allergies. But whoops, I don't speak Italian and she didn't speak a word of English.  She kept frantically running around the store waving her arms, which made me laugh causing me to cough harder.

Finally, she ran into the back room of the store and came back with a cup of water - spilling it all the way.  It helped a bit, but if she had just calmed down, it would have helped me more.  I couldn't stop laughing/coughing.  It was a scene from a comedy.  All the while, Ashley was laughing at me, laughing at her. Mark was in another store and missed the whole thing. 

I felt so bad to have caused her such anguish that I thought I needed to buy something.  So I grabbed the first thing I saw (thank goodness it wasn't expensive) and bought it.  We lovingly refer to her as "Lady Mushroom".  The hat she is "sporting" is a mushroom. Thank goodness she has a PINK dress!

Here's a closer look at her face and absolutely wonderful shoes:

As we were leaving, the lady called out "Buongiorno".  I replied "Buongiorno" and she replied "Buongiono" and I again replied "Buongiorno".  This went on for a few more "Buongiono's". I think she probably meant "Please, get the h*** out of my shop, you silly American!"

After we left her shop, I thought to myself - what in the world am I going to do with a "mushroom headed lady"?  I surely didn't need her.  However, she has become an important part of my morning ritual.  While making my coffee I look at her, smile and say "Buongiono"!  Maybe I should add a little cough for old times sake.

PINK SATURDAY - JANUARY 9. 2010

On November 28th, L x from FABULOUSLY FRENCH had a giveaway for her Pink Saturday.  I was lucky enough to win!  WHOO HOO!!!!

I can't tell you how excited I was when in my mailbox a package from FRANCE appeared.  Right before Christmas - I was in heaven.  I ripped open the package and I found this wonderful lingerie bag and it was PINK!

Isn't it pretty?  Maybe you would like a closer look at the cute embroidery:

I must admit, I am a little sad I didn't have it when we went to Paris in September.  It would have been a lot better than what used for my underwear oh, I mean lingerie. 

She also included a beautiful tag/ornament to hang on my Christmas tree. Guess what?  I packed it away with the Christmas decorations so I can't show you : (   Believe me, you would have loved it.

If you haven't found her wonderful blog - rush over there now.  It's a bit like going to France - and it doesn't cost you a cent.  However, it just makes me want to return ASAP!

PINK SATURDAY - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi Friends and welcome to the first Pink Saturday of 2010.  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a very Happy New Year.  

As you can see in previous posts, my daughter Ashley is embarking on a few new exciting companies. One is a clothing on-line boutique and the other is for her photography.  Some of you thought it was me since it was on my blog but actually these are all her "doings"!  She is a very talented lady and I am sure she will do well.

Our wonderful hostess, BEVERLY asked us since it is a new year, is there a project we hope to finish sometime this year.  YES, I have one.  I should be ashamed of myself, it should have been completed last July.  It is a baby blanket I am knitting for my great-niece, Bryar.  Does it count she was premature? LOL!

I am knitting the blocks in PINK and gray - the colors of her room.  This is what the finished project should look like:

Go ahead and laugh.....I understand!  The bad thing is I don't really think I like this anymore so I am thinking of starting over on a different baby blanket.  Call me crazy....maybe it will be finished for her 1st Birthday?????

Big News and a Grand Opening!!

That's right boys and girls!!!!! 

The Beverly Hills Annex will OFFICIALLY be open on January 2nd- 8 pm CST!!!!

So if you looking for vintage designer and non-designer clothing items and accessories- well your in luck!!! I've been wanting to open this store for soo soo long!!! And its finally happening!!! YAY!! So mark it on your calendars and stop by on January 2nd at : www.thebeverlyhillsannex.com.

Christmas Tour (part 2)

Here are the stockings hung by the chimney with care...

Upstairs, on the landing, I have a tradition of decorating 3 trees...

with a village (each house/building has something to do with my life.... ya i'm deep like that lol) underneath the trees....

The First tree is the Charlie Brown Christmas tree...

The 2nd tree is a beautiful tree with my favorite ornaments ;)

The 3rd tree is the tree from my Newport Beach, CA apartment back in 2006 ;)

ON my bedroom door is this advent calendar. I remember waking up, in grade school, and every morning being SOOO freakin' excited to but the next one up during breakfast!!

And yes we decorated our friend for winter downstairs.. complete with hat and gloves (well they are the starbucks giftcard mittens....crafty I KNOW)

For the past 5 years, since I graduated high school, I haven't been home for the full Holiday season. Yes- it was so much fun decorating my various apartments however there is nothing like being home!!! Christmas Tour (part 1)

HELLO EVERYONE! Today my daughter, Ashley, will be blogging about our house at Christmas time!

I always LOVE our house at Christmas!! SO I thought I would give a little tour around our house today ;) Hope you enjoy!!!

Here is our main tree ;) we used to have a white tree but changed back to green this year!!!

We used Santa Fairies all around the tree (including hanging from the ceiling) and made them look like they were decorating it!

Two of my favorite ornaments- the eiffel tour and a can can dancer oh la la!

My mom's favorite ornament that used to me her mom's when she was little! For as long as I can remember, that reindeer ALWAYS gets prime space at the top of the tree!

On the fire place- the best Christmas childrens books!

the prettiest santa on his sled with a gorgeous polar bear pulling him ;) We changed this to go on top of the grand piano this year!

A new tree this year!! In our kitchen all decorated in vintage around the world ornaments. We decorated it with ornaments from France, Italy, Africa and Amsterdam!!

Alrighty- there is a little tour of our downstairs this season!! Tomorrow i'll post about the upstairs!!! I know I didn't show the fireplace with the stockings but my camera was HATING the lighting tonight so I'll have to wait until tomorrow!

I have to go!! I am having some of my Viz girls over for a Christmas Extravaganza Party, at our house! Lots to do before they arrive!! Come back tomorrow for the next tour of the house and then THURSDAY (Christmas Eve) I'll post about our party!!!
